not the fashion that’s produced in enormous quantities which end up in landfill when they don’t all sell out.
And minimalist clothing is more versatile than most other styles, allowing us to pair our garments to make endless outfits. With a
minimalist wardrobe it’s very rare to stare at your clothes and think, ‘I have nothing to wear!’, or to own a piece of
clothing and have nothing to wear it with.

They’re also more likely to be popular if you’re looking to sell them through a consignment store or an online second hand

Minimalism is about avoiding the unnecessary, it's about simplicity, utility and elegance.
Minimalism is a term that can be used in many different formats and a minimalist lifestyle is one of the most prominent right now. And
although here it’s not a minimalist lifestyle I’m talking about exactly (that’s a whole other blog!), minimalism
regarding fashion is a similar theory and supports a minimalist lifestyle.
Some people (I know a few) talk about minimalist style and clothing - classic fashion - as boring, as though there is nothing creative
about it. But as with all styling, it’s often the finer details that catch the eye.
When you consider architecture or interior design, the simplest features are often the most remarkable. They say something profound and
grab our attention, but with very little noise.
Similarly with minimalist fashion it’s the simple unique qualities that catch the eye. For instance, a pair of man-style high-rise
black pants with a refined tailored waist which fall perfectly from the hips. Or a simple slim-fitted slip dress with a low back revealing
just a little extra.
It’s all about ‘less is more’.
And having a predominantly minimalist wardrobe doesn’t mean you can’t add some elements that don’t fit this
category.
For me, jewellery is the main way to add something extra to the minimalist fashion that dominates my wardrobe. One of my favourites is a
chunky, imperfect pearl bracelet from Reliquia. I wear it with a simple black dress, I wear it with a white t-shirt and jeans, I wear it
with a chunky knit and tailored pants. I wear it with just about anything!
But for you it could be a bold lipstick, nails that catch the eye, a statement handbag or shoes, or a trending extra like a head scarf or
belt.
