The best 90’s fashion trends for women have returned for another season offering those looks that, despite the years
that have passed, will never become outdated.
Of course, you may be thinking that you’re not one for the vivid colours and denim overalls that you know were popular in
90’s fashion. But they’re not the trends I’m sharing in this post.
I’m referring to capsule wardrobe staples like turtleneck knits, bomber jackets, baggy jeans, pencil skirts, slip skirts, leather
jackets, and many more.
These pieces represent wardrobe staples for so many of us and offer endless possibilities when it comes to creating smart casual outfits for
women, plus some more formal looks.
And then there are the styling trends of 90's fashion - the way pieces were incorporated in outfits - including coats styled with
dresses, jumpers and shirts tied at the hip, outfits in all black, caps and sneakers for street style, and baggy jeans.
I’m sharing the looks that won’t date.
When we revisit fashion eras, it’s not to copy the looks from those times, but to recreate them with a modern touch, to meld them for
our own style, using pieces that won’t become outdated as soon as the trend ends.
Of course, there are the brands that sell pieces that aren’t a modern take on a past style, but an exact recreation of a bygone
era.
It’s these pieces that often end up wasted and in landfill when, by the time the next season arrives, we realise they’re no
longer suitable or what we enjoy.
When you look at a piece, consider whether you can see yourself wearing it in five or ten years time. Will it meld with the other pieces in
your wardrobe and provide multiple outfit opportunities? Does it suit your lifestyle?

This isn’t as good as buying sustainable fashion, but it’s certainly better than heading for on-trend items that quickly stop
appealing to you, and potentially end up as waste.
